It’s summer. It’s hot. It’s time to chill. Ice cream, anyone? This month’s poll asks you to choose the best ice cream shop (or frozen dessert shop, for you sticklers) in the Orlando area. Get your tongues warmed up, and the napkins ready, it can get messy eating ice cream in the hot Florida sun.
Here are the nominees based on suggestions from Eating Orlando followers on Twitter:
Cefiore, College Park
Beaches and Cream, Downtown Disney
Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, multiple area locations
Twistee Treat, Clermont
Muse Gelato, Festival Bay
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain, Downtown Disney
See the sidebar to vote, and don’t forget to leave details of why you voted the way you did in the comment section below. If there was a glaring omission, please let me know about it. The winner will be featured on the blog next month. Poll closes August 15, 2009.

BEST ice cream by far is Ravenous Pig. They make there own and the flavors change daily. Melt in your mouth good.
Hands down, no competition, Jeremiah's serves up the best ice cream treat/gelati's in town!
They put Rita's Water Ice to shame!
Try the new place at Dr. Phillips Crossing. It's called Piccolo Gelato Cafe.
Try the Affogato. Two scoops of Hazelnut Gelato with a shot of hot Espresso. I'm addicted to that stuff.
I just visited Piccolo Gelato for the first time and it is amazing. The gelato is just as good as what I had it Italy, it is smooth and richly flavored and they have lots of varieties plus delicious Italian cookies and Lavazza coffee- I'm hooked!
Piccolo Gelato Café is SOoooo amazing... incredible gelato, and their panini are to die for! You're missing out if you don't try this place -- it's addictive!
Now, in 2013, the best ice cream gelato is in 4DELIGHTS! Really awesome!
