Don't usually think Dairy Queen for lunch, but I will have to try this. Looks good from the press release:
There's an unexpected sandwich now coming from an unexpected place. The sandwich is a Chicken Bruschetta Artisan-style Sandwich and the place is Dairy Queen®restaurants, which today introduced the new DQ Bakes!® sandwich to locations nationwide.
The Chicken Bruschetta Artisan-style Sandwich is available for a limited time only throughout the Dairy Queen system, a Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A and BRK.B) company. It's the newest sandwich on the DQ Bakes! menu, that includes, in addition to hot made-to-order sandwiches, Hot Desserts à la Mode and Snack Melts.
"This is an unexpected sandwich from a place you'd never expect and delivers a flavorful combination of ingredients not found in quick-service restaurants (QSRs)," said Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). "Finding such a high-quality, fresh sandwich at a QSR is rare. The Dairy Queen system has altered the paradigm with our new DQ Bakes! menu and the Chicken Bruschetta Sandwich is something different and better. At DQrestaurants you can treat yourself to the unbelievable every day."
The DQ Bakes! Chicken Bruschetta Artisan-style Sandwich is made with succulent grilled chicken, topped with freshly chopped tomatoes that are seasoned with basil and Italian herbs and crisp lettuce then drizzled with a balsamic glaze and served hot on a basil cheese focaccia roll.
"In test, this was by far one of the highest-rated sandwiches," added Westrum. "For fans looking for convenient and flavorful high-quality meal options and a refreshing alternative, they will find it with our new Chicken Bruschetta Artisan-style Sandwich."
The Chicken Bruschetta Artisan-style Sandwich is the latest innovation to come from the DQ Bakes!Institute, which was established to further inspire, develop and enhance future innovation coming from the DQ kitchen - ultimately, creating new and unique taste experiences fans can't get anywhere else.
In addition to the Chicken Bruschetta Artisan-style Sandwich, fans also will find on the DQ Bakes!menu Artisan-style Sandwiches Chicken Bacon Ranch, Chicken Mozzarella and Turkey BLT; Hot Desserts à la Mode of Triple Chocolate Brownie, Apple Tart and Fudge Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookie; and Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Bacon BBQ and Chicken Quesadilla Snack Melts.
The featured Blizzard® Treat in March is the Grasshopper Mousse Pie Blizzard Treat, a mouthwatering combination of cool mint, choco chunks, whipped topping and graham cracker pie crust crumbles blended together with creamy DQ vanilla soft serve and crowned with more whipped topping. BlizzardTreats are made to order and are offered in four sizes, including the popular Mini.
Throughout 2016, Blizzard Treats are served upside down or they are free at participating locations.
Many Blizzard Treat flavors, including the Grasshopper Mousse Pie Blizzard Treat, can easily be made into DQ Cakes which are perfect for St. Patrick's Day, special events, birthdays and anniversaries.
