Orlando's The Oceanaire to host exclusive six-course wine and oyster dinner November 5th

Local wine connoisseurs and oyster novices are invited to The Oceanaire for an exclusive six-course wind and oyster dinner hosted by internationally-known Kevin Joseph of Blue Island Oyster Farm, Jennifer Lumley of Terlato Wines International and Oceanaire’s Executive Chef Jairo Mejia, on Tuesday, November 5. Beginning at 6:30 PM, guests will meet and greet with the special guests; enjoy exceptional food and wine; and learn the history and culture of oysters and winemaking.

WHAT: The Oceanaire invites wine connoisseurs and oyster lovers for a six-course dinner presented by Kevin Joseph of Blue Island Oyster Farm, Jennifer Lumley of Terlato Wines International and Oceanaire’s Executive Chef Jairo Mejia. The trio has carefully crafted a sumptuous oyster-themed menu that perfectly complements the selected wines. 

WHO: Kevin Joseph is the Founder of New York Oyster Week and director of Marketing for Blue Island Oyster Company. Blue Island’s farm is located in the Great South Bay near Fire Island Inlet,, on Long Island’s South Shore. It is the perfect environment for raising oysters. The meal will feature oysters grown there and those from several other farms as well.. There will even be a wild oyster on offer; one that is foraged by Scuba Divers!  

Jennifer Lumley a National Accounts Manager for Terlato Wines International and has been representing Luxury wine brands for 10 years. Her experience with wines and pairings is extensive and her selections for this dinner are based on consultations with a distinguished collection of collaborators. The wine features for the dinner were designed to guide the guest in a process of discovery rather than to dictate which wines pair best with oysters and seafood.  

HOW: The program is designed for interaction and an entertaining exploration of oysters, wine and pairings. Guests are invited to ask questions, make comparisons and, ultimately, discover their favorite oyster & wine pairings. Kevin & Jennifer will put the oysters & wine in context geographically & historically for the guests who are sure to learn from and enjoy the experience with like-minded diners.
