I Stopped into the Seminole Towne Center mall in Sanford recently to check out The Burger Bar in the Food Court. The in-line unit looks really cool, unlike what you normally find in a food court, and I really liked the idea behind the concept: Each burger is named for a cocktail. There's the Screw Driver Burger with pepper jack cheese, caramelized red onions and an orange chipotle sauce. There's the Bloody Mary Burger with mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce and sauteed mushrooms. And there's the Dirty Martini Burger with crumbled blue cheese, sliced black olives and red onion. I chose the Pina Colada Burger with Angus beef, provolone cheese, grilled pineapple and bacon ($5.99).
Sounds cool, right? Only one problem: the burger was dry. So dry I really could have used an actual pina colada to wash it down. I was never asked how I'd like my burger cooked, and I didn't speak up with a preference. I suppose the default is well done - and I mean WELL DONE. The canned pineapple, however, seemed to have had only a cursory pass across the grill. Too bad, I loved grilled pineapple so much it might have given me some reason to return.
From just this one experience, I'm afraid I'll have to be three sheets to the wind before I belly up to The Burger Bar again.

Can't be as bad as the dry burger I had at the nearby "Metro Burger." That was about the worst I've ever seen....probably explains why it took them 20 minutes to (over)cook it.
